During my one week in Oahu, I stayed at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki. This hotel made the perfect home base for our time on the island. I love staying at cute, boutique properties when traveling, and the Hyatt Centric Waikiki fit the bill. The property features chic interiors, a great pool area, and it’s close to lots of places to eat and grab coffee. If you’re trying to figure out where to stay on Oahu, I highly recommend this hotel.
Hyatt Centric Waikiki – Boutique Hotel in Honolulu
Location
Address | 349 Seaside Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815
The Hyatt Centric Waikiki is located in Honolulu, 30 minutes from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. The famous Waikiki Beach is a short 8 minute walk away. As it’s in the heart of Waikiki, there’s plenty of coffee shops and eateries within walking distance.
Our Room at Hyatt Centric Waikiki
Hyatt Centric Waikiki offers a variety of rooms and suites. We stayed in a deluxe double room. The room is a whopping 404 square feet which provided plenty of space for the three of us. There’s two large wardrobes near the door; one with space to hang your clothes the other houses a mini fridge and a Keurig coffee pot.
The room also comes with a desk, large flat-screen tv, and a seating area with a couch and coffee table.
In the bathroom, you’ll find a large walk-in shower with a glass wall that looks into the room. Don’t worry, there’s a curtain that can be drawn for privacy. The vanity features a large round lit mirror, and comes equipped with a Drybar blow dryer, Hyatt Centric soaps and lotions, and a cosmetics mirror.

Hyatt Centric Waikiki Resort Fee + Amenities
The resort charges a $33 fee per day. Unlike other hotels that stick a resort fee onto their rooms for seemingly no reason, the resort fee at Centric Waikiki actually has some perks. Your resort fee includes things like beach chairs, two reusable water bottles, beach towels, GoPro rental (with reservation), and few other things.
The Pool at Hyatt Centric Waikiki
The pool at Centic Waikiki is beautiful. Located on the same floor as the lobby, it offers some incredible views of Waikiki. There’s some loungers situated in the water, which allows you to enjoy the refreshing pool water while also being able to comfortably lounge. There’s also a couple of cabanas and loungers that surround the pool as well.
Hyatt Centric Waikiki Parking
Like most hotels and resorts in Waikiki, parking is not included in your stay at the Centric Waikiki. If you plan renting a car while in Oahu, just be aware it will cost you an extra $42 ($50 for valet) per day to park at the hotel.
Dining
There is a restaurant at the hotel; however, it is closed until further notice. But, no worries. There’s plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. There’s also a Starbucks Reserve that is directly connected to hotel on the 1st floor.
Final Thoughts
The Centric Waikiki makes for the perfect home base while in Oahu. It’s close to Waikiki Beach and tons of restaurants like Marugame Udon, PAIA Fish Market, and Musubi Cafe Iyasume. The rooms are clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. All the staff I interacted with were very nice; especially, our cleaning lady Lea. There’s lot of great hotels in Waikiki, but I would definitely recommend staying at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki if you’re looking for a place to stay in Oahu.

FAQS
What part of Oahu should you stay on?
From what I gathered, Waikiki is the best area to stay on Oahu. On other parts of the island, you won’t find much to do outside of your resort; especially at night. While Waikiki makes for the best home base, make sure to check out other parts of the island.
