My AM and PM Skincare Routine – 2023 Winter Edition

1220 Views

With summer on its way out, it’s time to pull out my winter AM and PM skincare routine. As someone with dry skin, picking products with hydrating factors becomes especially important in the winter. I’m always looking for new products to try, but here are my current favorites that make up my winter skincare routine.

AM Skincare Routine

Cleanser: Water

In the morning, I don’t use cleanser. Instead, I just use a towel and warm water to wash off any residual product from the previous night. I read somewhere that cleansing with a cleanser day and night can dry the skin out more, so I opt to just use a cleanser at night.

Toner: Belif Aqua Bomb Hydrating Toner with Hyaluronic Acid

Toners help your serums and moisturizer penetrate the skin better, which makes them a winter skincare essential. I have been using the Belif Aqua Bomb Hydrating Toner for a couple of years now, and I love it. It’s simple and gentle, which makes it easy to use with treatments and serums.

AM Skincare Serum: Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Vitamin C Serum

For the AM, I use the Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Vitamin C Serum. Vitamin C is a powerhouse skincare product and good for all skin types. It helps with fine lines, wrinkles, uneven texture, and has firming properties.

What I love about the Kiehl’s Vitamin C serum specifically is that it also has hyaluronic acid in it. Hyaluronic Acid = hydration.

Eye Cream: Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb Cream with Squalane

The Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb Cream has been my go-to eye cream for awhile. It’s super hydrating and lightweight. Plus, it helps smooth fine lines and boosts elasticity.

AM Skincare Moisturizer: Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream with Squalane

The Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer is hands down one of the best moisturizers for dry skin in the winter. It’s thick but not heavy, and sinks into the skin nicely. Squalane, glycerin, and glacial glycoprotein are the three key ingredients that make this moisturizer perfect for dry skin.

Squalane nourishes the skin’s moisture barrier, glycerin helps soften the skin and retain moisture, and glacial glycoprotein hydrates and maintains the skin’s moisture balance.

SPF: Kiehl’s Super Fluid Daily UV Defense Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50+

Yes, SPF is part of my winter skincare routine, and it should be a part of yours as well. SPF is important to use year round, and the one I’m currently using is Kiehl’s Super Fluid. What’s nice about Kiehl’s sunscreen is that when it dries down, it has a primer-like effect so it wears well under makeup.

P.S. If you’re using a vitamin c serum, you need to wear an SPF as well.

PM Skincare Routine

Makeup Remover: Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm

My all-time favorite makeup remover is the Farmacy Green Clean cleansing balm. It’s easy to use, and breaks down even the most stubborn makeup. There’s the classic Green Clean but Farmacy also releases limited-edition scents like apple, strawberry shortcake, etc.

Skincare Tip: Use a makeup remover to take off your makeup and then a cleanser. Simply going in with a cleanser, you’re not actually cleansing your skin.

PM Skincare Cleanser: Youth to the People Superfood Gentle Antioxidant Cleanser

After taking off my makeup, I then go in with the Youth to the People Superfood Gentle Antioxidant Cleanser. The Youth to the People cleanser is a gentle, gel-to-foam cleanser formulated with spinach, kale and green tea to leave skin glowing and balanced.

This is one of the only cleansers I’ve used that makes my skin feel clean but not stripped.

PM Skincare Serums: Farmacy Honeymoon Glow AHA Resurfacing Night Serum and FILLING GOOD hyaluronic acid plumping serum

At night, I use two different serums. Farmacy’s Honeymoon Glow AHA Resurfacing Night Serum and Farmacy’s FILLING GOOD hyaluronic acid plumping serum. Honeymoon Glow is a multi-purpose serum that promotes cell renewal, refines pores, gently exfoliates, targets hyperpigmentation, and helps with fine lines and wrinkles. FILLING GOOD is a hydrating, skin-plumping and micro-filling serum.

I use FILLING GOOD every night, and pair it with Honeymoon Glow a few nights a week.

Eye Cream: Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb Cream with Squalane

I use the same eye cream day and night.

PM Skincare Moisturizer: Farmacy Honey Halo Ultra-Hydrating Ceramide Moisturizer

Last but not least, the moisturizer I use during my nighttime winter skincare routine is the Farmacy Honey Halo Ultra-Hydrating Ceramide Moisturizer. If you can’t tell by now, I love Farmacy skincare products. A lot of them are formulated for dry skin, and Honey Halo is no different. This moisturizer is super rich and delivers a deep hydration.

Paired with Honeymoon Glow and FILLING Good, this is the ultimate hydration combo.

So, there you have it, my AM and PM skincare routine for winter. If your skin is on the drier side like mine, I highly recommend giving some of these products a try!
