Packing for Disney World – Clothes + Accessories
Tops
When it comes to tops for Disney World in August, you’ll want to keep them light. Orlando is very warm and humid in the summer, so t-shirts and tank tops are your best bets. If you’re looking for some cute, aesthetic Disney shirts check out: The Lost Bros, Adelaide’s Fort, Circa Society, and The Wonder Studio Co.
Note: If you decide to order from Adelaide’s Fort, just know the t-shirts are printed on a thick, high-quality shirt. They are breathable, but heavier than your average tee.
Bottoms
For bottoms, denim shorts, tennis skirts, and biker shorts are great options. Biker shorts and oversized tees are in right now, so if you want to be cute and comfy this is a great option.

Denim Shorts
Tennis Skirts
Alternatively, athletic dresses and rompers are also becoming popular park attire.
Sneakers
You’ll be getting in a lot of steps walking around the parks so you’ll want to make sure you have some comfy footwear. I recommend the Dr.Scholls Time Off Sneaker and the Converse Comfort Platforms. I was able to walk 20,000+ steps each day with these shoes and my feet were fine.
Also, I recommend wearing shoes a half size bigger than your normal size. That way when your feet swell from being on them all day, they have a little more room. I’ve done this the past few times I’ve gone to the parks, and let me tell you it makes a BIG difference in how my feet feel at the end of the day.
Socks
For socks, you’ll want to get some that are moisture wicking. Keep your feet dry is important because it’ll help prevent blisters from happening.
Jewelry
If you’re into accessorizing, there’s plenty of cute Disney jewelry out there. You can check the Baublebar website for their latest Disney pieces. You can also stop by your local TJMaxx or Marshalls to find some discounted Baublebar Disney jewelry.
Some other places to find Disney inspired jewelry are Etsy and Jo and Co Goods.
Park Bags
A good park bag is important. How much stuff you’re carrying will determine which bag is right for you. If you’re carrying minimal stuff, you can get away with a fanny pack. There’s some really cute customizable fanny packs on Etsy. If you’re carrying more, the Baggu crescent bag is surprisingly spacious. Sling bags and backpacks are also good options.

Packing for Disney World – Essentials
Personal Fan
Let me tell you, you’re going to need a fan while walking around Disney World in August. This is probably the most essential thing to bring with you. Amazon has tons of personal fans and I recommend getting one that can stand/sit on its own, that way when you’re dining outside you can have it sit on the table and fan you.
Poncho
Going to Disney World in August means you’ll probably get hit with some rain, so make sure to pack some lightweight ponchos with you.
Cooling Towels
Cooling towels can help prevent heat stroke and give you some much needed relief. To use, you just wet the towel, wring it out, and then rest it against your neck.
Medicine
You don’t want to find yourself in the park with a head ache or indigestion. I recommend packing Tylenol, or your pain killer of choice, as well as Tums in your park bag. Also, if you suffer from motion sickness it would be smart to bring some Dramamine with you. You can pack it all in a small pill case.
Power Bank
You’re probably going to be snapping all the pictures and videos, and using the Disney app to check wait times and what not. So, make sure to bring a power bank with you to keep your phone charged throughout the day.
Liquid IV
With the amount of sweating you’re going to do, you’ll need to stay hydrated. Liquid IV is essential because it will replace vital electrolytes. There’s tons of different flavors and they’ve recently launched some sugar-free ones.
Water Bottle
If you’re not keen on spending $4+ every time you need a bottle of water, bring a reusable one with you. A lot of the quick-service restaurants have fountains and can give you free cups of water to fill your bottle with. There’s also refill stations throughout the parks.
If you want to keep your water cooler longer, bring a small, insulated water bottle with you. Another option is a collapsible water bottle that can be stored in your bag when not in use.
Packing for Disney World – Beauty + Wellness
Tinted Moisturizer
It’s so hot at Disney World in August , there’s really no point in wearing makeup. But, for a little coverage I recommend a tinted moisturizer. A couple of my favorites include the Fenty Eaze Drop and Rare Beauty Tinted Moisturizer.
Sunscreen
Again, it’s super hot in Orlando in August so you’ll want to protect your skin with some. Try to get one that guards against UVA and UVB rays. I use different sunscreens for my face and body. For the face, I recommend Unseen Sunscreen from Supergoop or Black Girl Sunscreen for white cast-free protection. For my body, I love Bask.

Aftersun
In case you do get a little sunburned, make sure to bring some aftersun care. Aftersun care also helps rehydrate your skin after baking all day and helps prevent peeling. I like the one from Beach Bum.
Megababe Thigh Rescue
If you have thick thighs, do yourself a favor and get some Megababe Thigh Rescue before your trip to Disney World. This stuff is amazing at keeping your legs chafe-free! I take it with me on pretty much every trip.
Megababe Body Dust
The Megababe Body Dust is another great hot weather product. It’s a powder that absorbs sweat and keeps you dry.
Color Wow Spray
The humidity in Florida is bad. If you want to keep your hair frizz-free, try the Color Wow Dream Coat Spray. This stuff makes your hair waterproof and therefore humidity proof.
Body Wipes
Disney World in August means it’s going to be hot and it’s going to be sticky. I recommend packing some body wipes as a way to refresh throughout the day.
Deodorant
If you’re wondering why I’m specifically calling out something obvious like deodorant, it’s because you’ll want to make sure you bring some that’s strong. With the humidity, you’ll cut through deodorant easier. Also, bring a small spray deodorant to reapply throughout the day.
