Covering every aspect of travel from hotels to travel insurance, affiliates can earn commission on each booking made through their referral links and integrations. 

Why is Travelpayouts the best affiliate program for travel bloggers?

Low Minimum Payout 

Travelpayout pays once a month given you met the minimum payout amount of $50. Compared to other affiliate networks and programs, this is relatively low. 

No Minimum Traffic 

Some affiliate programs require you to have a certain amount of traffic on your blog before they’ll let you join. However, Travelpayouts doesn’t have a minimum traffic you have to be at to get in. 

However, some of the partners within Travelpayouts require a separate application in order to join their program. 

Variety of Integration Options

Travelpayouts doesn’t just use affiliate links to help you generate income. Each partner has a variety of integrations you can use on your blog to bring in extra dollars. Just to give you an idea, here’s the commission rates for a few partners:

• Booking.com: 4% commission + 1 session cookie lifetime
• GetYoutGuide: 8% commission + 31-day cookie lifetime
• Viator: 8% commission + 30-day cookie lifetime
• Airalo: 12% commission + 30-day cookie lifetime
• Klook: 2-5% commission (activity dependent) + 30-day cookie lifetime

What is a cookie lifetime? 

A cookie lifetime is how long from the time someone clicks one of your affiliate links you have to receive credit for the sale. For instance, if someone visited your site and clicked a Klook affiliate link, you would get credit for that sale for up to 30 days. Granted they didn’t click someone else’s affiliate link in the meantime.

So, Is Travelpayouts worth it?

Okay, so I’ve given you all the nitty gritty details about Travelpayouts, but what are my thoughts on the program? I love it!

As a travel blogger who is just starting to get traction on her blog, it’s nice to be able to monetize at my level. No, I’m not bringing in big bucks, but enough to offset some of my operating costs. 

Also, I don’t have to worry about managing multiple logins and keeping track of all the different earnings across platforms. It’s very convenient to have everything under one umbrella. However, there is a small downside.

While I think Travelpayouts is a great platform for new bloggers, if you’re someone who is bringing in a lot of traffic to your website, you might be better off joining certain affiliate programs individually. 

Why? Well, with some programs, like Viator, you’re eligible for commission raises based on your bookings. There are no commission raises with Travelpayouts so there’s the potential of losing out on that extra income. 

But again, this really only matters if you have a high traffic blog with a good amount of bookings. If you’re just starting out, Travelpayouts is still the way to go.
